Youth Company


 Youth Company 2024 

Ekklesia School of Ballet Youth Company is a performance-focused, dance outreach opportunity for students who are serious about their dance training or wish to pursue a career in dance. Youth company is available for students in Ballet 6-10.  Students are eligible for company if they meet all of the class requirements for their level.  Members of the ESB youth company will be cast in new works created in the Spring Semester. Each new work will consist of challenging contemporary ballet repertoire with an aim to highlight each of the students individual strengths. The students will be coached technically and artistically, and guided in their pursuit of dance by our accomplished faculty.


Apply


Students who wish to apply for company must provide the following:

1. Contemporary Solo (1:00 minimum in length). Students will show their solo during the Youth Company Audition on Saturday, January 20th. We encourage students to use this solo as a starting point for their Student Choreography Project dances. 

2. One page typed essay answering the question: What are your goals for this year and for the future in dance?  What do you hope to gain from additional performance opportunities?

3. Signed 2024 Youth Company Agreement Form 

 
Application and signed Agreement Forms are due Saturday, January 20 th.

The audition schedule is as follows:

1:00-2:00 Paquita Rep (Ballet 5A and up)
2:00-3:30 Youth Company Audition -- learn new rep and present your solos. (Ballet 6 and up)

Requirements


Membership is a privilege we offer to students who demonstrate the highest level of ability and commitment.  Students must be enrolled in all classes for their assigned level.
Students in Youth Company must complete the application and participate in the Spring Ballet. Casting in classical ballets is an important part of training and is part of a dancer’s resume.  
 

Tuition/Fees

Youth Company Tuition: $255

Youth Company Performance Fee: $85

Youth Company Jacket (optional): $70  

 

Rehearsals


Tuesdays 7:15-7:45 pm: Ballet 6 and up Youth Company Rehearsal 

Saturdays 1:00-3:00 pm: Spring Ballet Rehearsal 

Saturdays in February 3:00-4:00 pm: Ballet 9 and up join Company Rehearsal as needed -- Dates TBD

All ESB Rehearsals, classes, and performances are subject to change and/or adjustment.
