Ballet 1 through Ballet 4 can simply sign up. You must be signed up for your classes and Ahavah by Tuesday, September 5th.
The deadline for Pre-Ballet students to sign up for Ahavah is October 1st.
All students must be taking their full amount of required classes in order to perform in Ahavah. To view the class requirements for each level, see below.
ALL Ahavah cast members must commit to attend the mandatory in-studio dress rehearsal on Saturday, November 25th.
The performances will be Saturday and Sunday December 2nd and 3rd.
About Ahavah
Ahavah: The Story of Christmas has become a Christmas tradition for the Shoreline Community for over a decade, and ECB is excited to bring this tradition to the Middletown community. Taking you back in time to experience the astonishing true story behind Christmas, Ahavah is a delight for the whole family. The joy and enchantment of the season are palpable in this telling of a timeless story. Ekklesia Contemporary Ballet and Ekklesia School of Ballet join together once more to present Ahavah.
Over the past 6 years of performing Ahavah along the shoreline, over $38,000 was donated to the Shoreline Soup Kitchens and Pantries. Matched by The Gowrie Group, these donations provided over 211,000 meals to our neighbors in need! We hope to bring that same giving spirit to St. Vincent de Paul Middletown. Due to this year's high rates of unemployment, eviction, and illness caused by COVID-19, our new community needs help more than ever from fundraising events such as Ahavah. This partnership is a wonderful opportunity to meet the needs of hungry families during the Christmas Season.
Ahavah Class Requirements
Ballet 1: 1 ballet class (Wednesday 4:15-5:15)
Ballet 2: 2 ballet classes
Ballet 3: 3 ballet classes
Ballet 4: 3 ballet classes, 1 Pre-Pointe class
Ballet 5A: 3 ballet classes, pre-pointe, jazz, conditioning
Ballet 5B: 4 ballet, pre-pointe, jazz, conditioning
Ballet 6: 4 ballet, 2 pointe, jazz, conditioning
Ballet 7: 4 ballet, 1 pointe, modern, variations, contemporary, conditioning
Ballet 8: 4 ballet, 1 pointe, variations, contemporary pointe, contemporary, conditioning, modern
Ballet 9: 4 ballet, 1 pointe, variations, contemporary pointe, contemporary, conditioning, modern
